Côtes du Rhône Villages Grower: Jean-Luc and Marie-Lise Dorthe Grape Varieties: 40% Grenache, 25% Syrah, 35% Mourvèdre Vines Age: Grenache (50 years)), Syrah (52 years) Mourvèdre (48 years) Village: Saint Marcel d’Ardeche, 55 miles northwest of Avignon. Soil: Grown on 2.72 acres terraced, at 190meters, large granite stones covering limestone. The area is rich with ancient ruins, including vestiges of Roman settlements. Vinification: Three passes in the vineyard, for hand selection of only the healthiest unbroken grapes, with ripe skins. Grenache, Syrah and Mourvedre are all de-stemmed.
